The statue of Fridtjov in Vangsnes
The statue of Fridtjov is worth seeing. Watching out on his kingdom: the Sognefjord and its surroundings. Fridtjov den Frøkne (means brave) was a local king in this area. Close to the statue there are some grave-mounds. The legend tells that Fridtjov and his wife, Ingeborg, are burried there. The story about Fridtjov and Ingeborg can be bought and listened to on CD. The statue was a gift from the German Emperor Wilhelm II (1913). From here there is an excellent view on the Sognefjord.
